Royal Barge Oar #3 draws on a different tradition entirely, the ceremonial barge. For centuries, royal processions moved by water, gilded vessels carried along Europe’s rivers to the rhythm of matched oars, each stroke part propulsion, part pageantry.
Rowing has always turned the oar into something worth keeping, and few were finer than these. This piece is handcrafted from fine wood in the refined ceremonial shape, at a graceful 1.45 metres that slots easily into interiors where a full-length oar would be too much. Nothing overlooked, regardless of scale.
